Pediatric Pulmonology
At Karol Children's Hospital, our Pulmonology specialists are trained and experienced to treat children who have breathing issues because of any reason. Generally, parents want to know if their child has asthma or some other problem. We serve pediatric pulmonology tests as Pulmonary function tests and function fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FFB). FFB permits pulmonologists to look inside the lungs with a fiberoptic scope. We take care of the following conditions:
- Asthma
- Pneumonia
- Wheezing
- Bronchitis
- Apnea (when babies may stop breathing or forget to breathe)
- Cystic Fibrosis (Excessive build-up of mucus in lungs, which arise difficulty in breathing)
- Technology dependent children: (When the child need oxygen or respirator to help in breathing)
